John Daly grew up in Burlington, Iowa and has been involved in music since grade school where he had a small solo in an eighth grade production. Music participation continued in high school at Notre Dame Catholic High school where he participated in choir, solo competitions, variety shows, and the school musical all four years with lead roles in three of them. During high school John teamed up with a fellow class mate to sing Simon and Garfunkel's songs any place that would have them, and that ended up being quite a few places. The duet even competed in a local talent competition placing second to a rendition Rocky Mountain High which he still thinks was fixed. Even in these early days, John was pulling out intricate harmonies to produce beautiful music. Between high school and college, John performed with a group called After 8 where he honed his vocal and performance skills in front of audiences of all sizes and age groups. In college, John auditioned for the lead singer in a contemporary Christian band called Perfect Vision where he also met his wife Amy, who was auditioning for the same part. They both got the roles, and went on to create beautiful music together and eventually marrying in 1988. Perfect Vision continued until 1991 when the group disbanded. It was about this time that John joined up with a group called Life Singers Ministries which produced Easter musicals depicting the life, death and resurrection of Jesus and took that musical to churches all over the Chicago area. John participated in this group for 20 years until it disbanded in 2008 and in that time directed over half of the productions that the group did, had a lead role in every musical he was in, and served in a leadership role within the group. John has also been very involved in the music at Plano Christian Church in Plano, IL where he and his family fellowship and worship. As the praise team leader for many years, he was leading worship almost every Sunday and choosing the music that would be played during the worship time. During this time, the praise team was invited to perform at other churches, Christian camps and Daniels Den. John also performed for many years in the Plano Christian Church Living Christmas Tree productions where he also did drama direction. These productions were yearly Christmas traditions for people all over the Plano area and are still missed by the community. With the demise of the living Christmas tree, John and his wife Amy started the Lamp Light Singers which is a Victorian Christmas Caroling Quartet that performs throughout the Christmas season in full Victorian costumes with 4-part harmony. John joined Gary and Dennis in the Wooden Rockers in 2008 and has enjoyed the chance to sing the classic rock music that he loves. John's tenor voice provides many of the high harmonies in the songs, and johns voice can be heard as the lead voice on songs like Amiee by the Pure Prairie League, Stepping Stone by the Monkees, and Some Kind of Wonderful.
